Understanding Swap Settings
Slippage Tolerance
Slippage is the price difference between when you submit and when the transaction executes.
- Default: 0.5% - Good for most trades
- Low (0.1-0.3%): For stable, high-liquidity tokens
- Lower fees
- May fail if price moves too much
- High (1-5%): For volatile tokens or low liquidity
- Trade executes more reliably
- You might get a worse price
When to increase slippage:
- Transaction keeps failing
- Token is very volatile
- Low liquidity pool
- High trading volume period
Transaction Deadline
How long the transaction stays valid before expiring.
- Default: 20 minutes
- If the transaction doesn't execute within this time, it's cancelled
- Increase if network is congested
- Decrease for time-sensitive trades
Swap Types
Buying Tokens (BNB → Token)
- You pay with BNB
- You receive the memecoin
- Your BNB is added to the liquidity pool
- You get tokens based on the bonding curve price
Example:
- You send: 0.1 BNB
- You receive: ~1,234,567 PEPE tokens
- Price impact: 0.12%
Selling Tokens (Token → BNB)
- You pay with your tokens
- You receive BNB
- Your tokens go back to the pool
- You get BNB based on current price
Example:
- You send: 1,000,000 PEPE tokens
- You receive: ~0.095 BNB
- Price impact: 0.15%
Fees
Every swap incurs a 1% Uniswap V3 pool fee that gets distributed:
- Creator Share (25%): Goes to token creator automatically
- Buyback Share (25%): Buys and burns tokens automatically
- Platform Share (50%): Platform maintenance
- Gas Fee: Paid to BSC validators (separate, ~$0.50-1)
Total pool fee: 1% of swap amount (this is NOT a transfer tax, it's a DEX pool fee)
Tips for Successful Swaps
Check Price Impact
- Under 1%: Safe, minimal impact on price
- 1-5%: Moderate impact, still reasonable
- Over 5%: High impact, you'll move the price significantly
- Consider splitting into smaller trades
- Wait for more liquidity
Avoid Failed Transactions
Common reasons swaps fail:
- Insufficient BNB: Keep extra BNB for gas (at least $5 worth)
- Slippage too low: Increase slippage if token is volatile
- Amount too large: Price impact pushes beyond slippage tolerance
- Token balance changed: Someone else traded before you
Best Practices
- Start small: Test with a small amount first
- Check liquidity: Higher liquidity = better prices
- Monitor price: Use the live chart to time your trades
- Set reasonable slippage: Don't go too high or you'll get rekt
- Double-check amounts: Make sure you're trading what you intend
Understanding the Bonding Curve
All tokens on Quik.Meme use an automated market maker (AMM):
- Price goes up when people buy
- Price goes down when people sell
- No order books - trades execute instantly
- Constant liquidity - you can always trade
The more you buy, the higher the price goes. The more you sell, the lower it goes. This is called "price impact."
